Press Release Body: NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, UK – 17 th September 2008 – Vision Gate
Portal, one of the largest portal software companies in the world, produces Vision
Gate Fusion software, which is currently used to power approximately 500
subscription-based membership websites. After evaluating protection products that
secure the Internet-focused PHP programming language, Vision Gate chose
SourceGuardian over the rest. “SourceGuardian, in my opinion, works better … and
costs much less,” says Dave Kiger, Vision Gate Portal’s Software Design Director,
“and we’ve always received prompt, polite service.”

The company invested 18 months in the development of its Fusion software, and it
continues to add new features. Without something to protect its source code, this
investment would have been at very high risk. “SourceGuardian allows us to install
our software on client websites, maintain it, and even manage our own licensing
system without fear that it will be stolen or tampered with,” says Kiger. “In fact,
having source code protection was essential for securing outside investors –
investors we needed during development.”

The first version of SourceGuardian was released in 2002, and its latest Version 7.0
was launched in October 2007. Inovica, Ltd., the UK-based company which developed
SourceGuardian, was founded by Internet entrepreneur Adrian Teasdale. “It’s
rewarding to have created a product that is so valuable to our customers,” says
Teasdale, “and we’re also proud that the software won a North East UK Export Award
in 2004.”

For Vision Gate Portal, the software has been the most efficient and cost-effective
way to protect the company from financial loss. “SourceGuardian has been an
essential and valuable component to our overall success,” says Kiger.
